  • The Health Science Education program is a professional program intended for those who educate health professionals. Health professionals and non-health professionals who work in academic health professions education contexts may choose to pursue course-based or thesis-based studies. If you are not a professional involved in health professional education, then you may only pursue thesis-based studies.
  • The applicant must have secured a Supervisor for the Thesis stream prior to applying. Please state this information in your Letter of Intent.
  • If you are a student in a clinical training program, a letter of support from your Program Director that acknowledges their recognition and support for your participation in the program is required before enrollment. While not a formal requirement, HSED students with active faculty appointments are also encouraged to acquire and submit a letter of support from their Department Chair prior to enrollment. The support of one’s professional community is often instrumental in helping students manage their graduate education amidst competing priorities.
  • If English is not the applicant’s native tongue, an official copy of the applicant’s TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language score or other evidence of competency in English. A minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 92 (550 on the paper – base TOEFL or 237 on the computer-based test) is required.

For more information on the English Language Proficiency Requirements please visit the English Proficiency Page on our Future Students site.
