Residency Week 2022 Banner

Residency Week

HSED Residency Week (HSEDUC 700 & 707) takes place during the first full week of June every year in Hamilton, ON, Canada. All incoming HSED students, and students nearing completion of their time in HSED, are required to attend all days in-person, including Norman Education Research Day (NERD). Clinical duty does not excuse students from Residency Week. For more information about Residency Week, please see Section 1.6 of the HSED Student Handbook.

Residency Week 2024 will take place June 3 to June 7, 2024.

Seminar Series (2023-2024)

These presentations are open to all HSED students. There are no Seminar Series events during the Spring/Summer term. Once the 2023-24 schedule is available, it will be posted here. You can access recordings of past MERIT Rounds & Events through their YouTube channel.

Capstone Portfolio: students are required to attend a minimum of ten (10) presentations prior to their completion of the Program.

Workshop Series

Philosophy Statement & Dossier Sessions

Throughout the academic year, current HSED students are invited to attend an optional virtual statement and portfolio session. These will be held on the second Thursday of the last month of every term. These workshops are open invitations for our students to engage with peers and faculty to further develop their philosophy statement and dossier, regardless of which stage its development is at. Each Term, the Program Office will issue a reminder and a link for HSED students to indicate their intention to attend that term’s session.
